If you’re reading this, it means that my content has gotten your attention and is bringing you some sort of comfort and whats more, I am so grateful to be able to help you through your learning journey and can’t wait to hear and learn about you, your experiences and what you’ve accomplished (continue to accomplish) on a daily basis, to reach your full potential and live a healthy and happy life inside and out.

I was born and raised in Morocco in a family of 6. In 2002, when I was in high school, my family decided to migrate to Canada to live the North American dream. Life wasn’t easy then because of the cultural shock and adaptability challenge. There were many times when I felt home sick and wanted to go back to Morocco but I pushed through and built a new life, made new friends and worked hard to succeed at school. I did all of this except for “making new friends”. I always struggled making long-lasting friendships since I was an introvert and didn’t strive around people (I still kinda I’m an introvert… It really depends on the day ;)). I made a couple acquaintances here and there but nothing more. I didn’t go out much during high-school years and my life was boring, to say the least.
I finished high-school in 2004 and enrolled in University in Social Sciences: Economics and Public Policies. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life at that time and I didn’t have an answer to the question: Where do you see yourself 5 years or 10 years from now? What I knew was that my father expected me to get a degree, find a professional and stable job, get married and have kids. So I went down that route: I earned 2 university degrees, landed a well-paying and stable job, got married (still happily married!) and now have 2 beautiful girls who mean the world to me 🙂
Life couldn’t be better.
MY PERSONAL CHALLENGES
When my husband and I got married, we were young in our early twenties. We were both done school and employed full-time and life was good. We often travelled and visited many countries (i.e. Cuba: three times, Mexico, the United States: Four times, The United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, Denmark and many cities in Canada). We loved our lifestyle but at the same time, we were trying for kids because we knew we wanted to grow our family.
However, we struggled to get pregnant and month after month, we found ourselves constantly frustrated with no positive results. Clearly something was wrong, and getting pregnant was becoming harder throughout the years. We felt helpless for 3 years until we finally got our FIRST POSITIVE. we couldn’t be happier!
Both of my pregnancies were difficult and I gained lots of weight throughout the years. I went from a size 4 when I got pregnant with my first in 2012 to size 14 in 2018 when I had my second. I gained a total of 60 pounds and I was miserable. I dealt with so many health problems and had tried so many diets and exercise routines but nothing seemed to work. The pounds kept piling on and I just couldn’t sustain adequate energy levels. I found it extremely hard to stick to diets, let alone that I was constantly in pain because of water retention and joint inflammation. I dealt with aches and pains throughout those years and was adamant about finding a solution and ending my misery. My goal was to lose at least 25 pounds quickly and steadily lose weight afterwards. After some research, I stumbled into the Ketogenic Diet and how it can help the body get rid of inflammation by turning it into a fat burning machine. I was skeptical at first but the more I read about the subject, the more I started to see the potential benefits and trust that it could change my life. After long hours of planning and preparation, I gave it a go and hoped for the best. After only 3 months of doing Keto, I lost 25lbs and kept steadily losing weight. My water retention was completely gone (which was amazing!) and I no longer suffered from inflammation in my joints. This has been life changing for me. After reaching my weight loss goal, I slowly went back to a Low-Carb diet reintroducing healthy carbs and I have maintained a healthy weight so far, being back to a size 6 (HURRAY!!).
It is important to have goals and to dream big because that is how we nourish our mind and spirit and how we feed our determination and continue moving forward without looking back. They say when you reach your full potential and land your dream life, you’ll feel it. I look forward to that feeling each and every day.
